Svalbard Polar Expedition

Svalbard Polar Expedition

Test yourself on a true polar expedition amid the stunning scenery of mountainous Spitsbergen. Experienced polar guides will lead you on a ski traverse among the spectacular mountains, glaciers and frozen lakes surrounding Longyearbyen. You will ski and haul sleds up to 20km each day. You will learn all the survival skills necessary to survive and thrive in the high Arctic.

Spitsbergen

This trip involves demanding physical activity. Temperatures can drop as low as -35ocelcius. Do not underestimate the severity of this trip. After sunset the cold descends on the camp and only stoves, polar sleeping gear and high-energy food can keep you warm. By being well equipped with proper polar clothing and equipment, and with seasoned guides you will learn to manage and enjoy your time in this environment. Skiing skills and winter camping experience are desirable.
