We’re always delighted to receive positive feedback from our valued guests.
Robert from Australia had this to say about the 2024 Emperors & Mountains expedition in response to an inquiry asking about an independent assessment of the expedition:
“I cannot recommend David more highly. He has vast experience in the polar regions and has enormous passion for Antarctica and he delights in showing it to his guests.
I have been on a couple of expedition cruises to the Antarctic Peninsula. What David is offering is on a totally different ‘level’ entirely! I did the trip with David last November. The fact that it involves flying only and no ship, makes it a very different experience. The fact that there is only 8 people on the trip (rather than 100-200 on a Peninsula trip) also gives a totally different perspective. There is a much greater sense of adventure, beginning with the fact that you spend time in beautiful Cape Town before the trip and the fact that you fly on a huge cargo plane. Landing and taking off on this extraordinary ice runway is an amazing experience on its own.
The flights to the two Emperor penguin colonies we visited and into the mountains were just extraordinary! Jaw dropping scenery that is very hard to describe. The visits to the Emperors has to be (perhaps along with gorillas in Rwanda) the most amazing experiences of my life.
There was nothing I wished I knew about before booking the trip – I had worked very closely with David, so was very well prepared. Although, NOTHING can prepare you for the experiences you will have and how amazing it will be.
There was nothing about the trip that didn’t meet my expectations. EVERYTHING about the trip exceeded my very high expectations. Obviously, paying the large amount of money involved ensures you are have high expectations to undertake the trip. You will not be disappointed.”
Janet, from the USA, also on the 2024 Emperors & Mountains Expedition wrote, “I’ve always wanted to visit Antarctica, and I was certain I’d never get beyond the [Antarctic] Peninsula. This trip gave me the chance to experience the Antarctica of my wildest imagining, the Antarctica of epic exploration and breathtaking grandeur. I walked on the ice shelf. I flew over mountains so extraordinary I can hardly believe they’re real. I saw thousands and thousands of Emperor penguins, and followed their tracks to the edge of the sea ice. I sat on a cliff top studded with garnets, watching nesting Wilson’s storm petrels in front of the never-setting sun. All this, and at the end of the day a cocktail, a chef-prepared meal, and a cosy bed.”
Linda from Brisbane travelled on the 2024 Antarctic Peninsula Explorer. Linda wrote: “David provides an amazing personal and professional travel experience. Not only with the actual trip but with help and advice before and after. David goes above and beyond with every traveller to ensure that they get the very best out of their experiences.”
